Singer Diljit Dosanjh slammed trolls who mocked a girl for crying at his Jaipur concert. During his Hyderabad show, the singer expressed understanding for fans who get emotional at his performances, saying he relates to them and understands the emotional power of music. Diljit also shared a video on Instagram, hitting back at the trolls, stating that mocking the girl was equivalent to “insulting the daughter of the country.”
In the video, Diljit said, “Music is an emotion. It makes people smile, dance, fight, fall, and even cry. I, myself, have cried several times listening to music. Only those who have emotions can cry. I got you, don’t worry about that.”
“These girls—no one can stop them. They are independent; not only men but women too earn. They earn and can enjoy themselves. You are insulting her, you are insulting the daughter of the country,” the singer added.
He shared the video with the caption, “A woman who knows her worth doesn’t need validation—she shines bright enough to light her own way.” The video featured several shots of girls getting emotional as Diljit performed. In the video, a concertgoer also shared, “I cried. I didn’t hesitate to shed tears. I saw that people were trolling a girl, who was crying. But, I attended the concert, and it came out naturally. It is completely natural to cry, guys.”
After his Jaipur concert, Diljit had shared a video where a girl was seen crying as he sang the song “Dil Tenu De Dita Mai Ta Sohneya.” Several social media users trolled the girl for crying at the music concert.
Many people on Instagram praised Diljit for supporting his fans. One user wrote, “Meme walo ko jawab diya gaya hai (sic).” Another wrote, “Diljit literally said: my fans are untouchable (sic).” One comment read, “Saare trollers ko jawab dediya (He gave it back to all the trollers) (sic).”
Diljit Dosanjh’s Dil-Luminati tour, spanning 11 cities, began on October 26 in New Delhi. Hyderabad was the third stop on the tour, and he will next perform in Ahmedabad.
